written and oral advocacy

Persuasion is a fundamental legal skill. It is not enough to be able to find and understand the law. Lawyers must be able to convince others to make decisions that favor clients. Fortunately, like any other skill, it can be honed with study and practice.

THROUGH THIS COUSE YOU WILL LEARN:

  • How to reframe legal rules in a way that focuses the court how the law supports your client’s position.

  • How to find, choose, and present cases with fact patterns where the party in your client’s position won.

  • How to craft a story from the facts that both connects with the law and emotionally motivates the court to find in favor of your client.
